Remove cursed objects and set yourself free from sin
To remove cursed objects, we must first identify them. God said, “Don’t steal.” Whenever we take something that is not ours, it’s a cursed object. The Bible teaches us not only not to steal but also that we owe nothing to anyone. We ask the Lord as we read this text to reveal to us if there are any damned things in our homes and communities. We cannot take a step forward until we confess, condemn, forsake, and seek forgiveness. That is what God expects of all of us. God wants to awaken us in time and be merciful so that we do not perish. Not only are we destroying ourselves but our loved ones as well.

In Joshua 7:1 KJV, the Scripture says, But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. Another translation said that Achan took cursed objects, and Lord was angry with him. The essence of Achan’s sin consists of the negative and the positive. It means that he took what is cursed and what belongs to God.
Achan’s sin
His sin is described in the first verse. While the result of sin in verses 2-5 and the cleansing from sin 6-26. In the first verse, we see that Achan took from the cursed things. That means he took those pieces that God condemned to destroy. He knowingly and willingly violated God’s holy commandment at 6:18.
In verses 20 and 21, we have a detailed description of sin: And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
Achan saw expensive embellished robes and a lot of money. It all belonged to the Lord. So he took what was cursed and what belonged to the Lord. The desire of the eyes has a significant influence on the heart and the will. He allowed the desire for forbidden things to grow in him. When they entered the city, they had flaming torches in their hands. And instead of burning the robes and taking the silver and gold to the priest, he took it for himself. His family knew this because it is difficult to hide from other people’s eyes in the house. After seeing it, the family agreed to it.
Being an Israelite and wearing a Babylonian cloak doesn’t go with each other at all. Everything cursed has to catch fire. Achan needed to remove cursed objects for liberation, which he did not do. Everything from the world, the body, and Satan are cursed and condemned to fire. In the New Testament, we read in Colossians 3: 5-10 what the Valylon cloak is in a spiritual sense. All of those should be burned by the fire of the Holy Spirit. The torch of the Holy Spirit should burn all this without exception. The same list apostle Paul is mentioning in Ephesians 4:25-32. Is there this cloak buried in your hearts? Do we justify or hide?

How to remove cursed objects in your life?
Since we identified the cursed object, now we can work on it. Remove cursed objects in your life because then you will be free. When we read the Book of Joshua, chapter seven, we see that the whole land of Canaan and all of Jericho is under a curse and that God intended to destroy it. God began with Jericho. In the very beginning, God told the people that if they wanted to conquer the promised land and live in it victoriously, they must follow principles.
The first principle is that God will break down every obstacle with His power and strength. The second principle is that God will work by His power if they have obedient faith. These two principles apply to all times and today. If we want God’s power to be shown in us, we need to have obedient faith. Achan consciously and willingly violated God’s command.
- The prayer of Joshua and the elders
And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the Lord until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. Joshua 7:6, KJV
In trouble, Joshua immediately turned to the Lord as soon as he heard that Israel had been defeated. The ark of the Lord represents His presence. In the ark, itself were the commandments that God had given to his people. He threw everything aside and set out to pray. Amazing example for all of us, today, how we should leave everything aside and seek God first. So, to remove cursed objects, first, we need to pray. Prayer is a key answer in any situation.
2. Revealing the sin
Sin can be revealed only with God’s help. Only if God helps them and they are obedient. Regarding sin, God said that when wickedness is public, everything must be proved by clear evidence with two or three witnesses. However, if something was hidden, then the dice were thrown. The time has come when God has begun to reveal the sinner, and no human skill can stop him from doing so. It starts from the tribe of Judah to Achan. Nothing can be hidden. Thank God for revealing some sins in our lives. Only then can we seek the grace of forgiveness.
3. Repentance
The last step to remove cursed objects is repentance. God’s grace is great, so today he reveals sin so that we can repent, be cleansed by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. If we do not repent, we will be eternally under condemnation. And we can not remove cursed objects from our lives.
God’s ultimatum regarding the sin
Prayer alone is not enough. Iy prayers must be born the sacred activity of faith. When God reveals sin, he describes it in the right light. An ultimatum means God’s last word regarding sin. To get rid of and remove cursed objects, we must get rid of sin. Without deliverance from sin, there is no liberation and way to remove cursed objects. We read God’s ultimatum in verse twelve and at the end of verse thirteen.
If Achan had confidence in the Lord and had waited a little longer, he would have had everything under God’s permission. We can cleanse sin only once through the righteous blood of Christ. There was no sin or error in Him. God the Father said of His Son that it is the beloved Son who is according to His will. Let us thank God that the wrath of God fell on Him instead of on us. He died and rose again to give us victory and hope. We in Him can overcome and remove cursed objects.
Our valley of tribulation through Jesus Christ becomes a valley of hope. The Lord has given us the to examine ourselves and seek forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ and salvation. As well as the grace of the Holy Spirit to open His intentions through us. Go over that list Paul sent to Colossians and Ephesians and, examine your heart. Today is the day when you remove cursed objects from your life and free yourself from the sin.
