Top 3 reasons for the first cup of coffee with God

Top 3 reasons why your first cup of coffee should be with God are the top of your relationship with God. Generally, there are two types of people. The ones who get up in the morning, fully awake, and be like all rise and sunshine. On the other hand, the other type like myself, well we need coffee and time to wake up. That feeling when the first sip of coffee touches your soul; it tastes like a hug in a mug. Now, before you have your first cup of coffee, think about having it with God.

Firstly, you should always start your day with prayer. Because prayer is an open 24/7 connection or phone call with God. Talk to Him, and then stay for a few seconds to listen. Once you do that, your day will be much better. You will feel calmer through the day storm.

Secondly, while you are praying and you have your favorite cup with you, think about reading a few passages from the Bible. Scripture is another way of communication with God. If your daily routine becomes reading the Bible, you will be much wiser. So, the second reason why your first cup of coffee should be with God is wisdom. And trust me on this one, God’s wisdom is not the same as people’s. The Holy Spirit will tell you what you need to understand, and when you need to hear it.

Thirdly, you should be alone during your first coffee or any other morning routine. Why? Because that will give you a chance to get to know yourself a bit better. That is why the third reason is to be alone, and yet you will not be all by yourself. God is there.

I don’t drink coffee

That is OK! The point of this message is not about coffee. I am not trying to make you a coffee addict. You can have your first cup of almost anything you want. Starting from water, tea, orange juice to yogurt, or smoothy. The point is not the beverage! The primary intent is the time you spent drinking it. That first portion of your time should go to God. Why? Because the first portion of your time is the best quality. And God, for sure, deserves the best. Sometimes readings would give us an answer to prayer, help us make a decision, or even admonish us. The day when something happens read the Bible in the evening too, you could read something similar or something significant to that event. Then you could record the date and a brief description in the margins.

Even, if you are the type of person who doesn’t drink anything, in the morning still find time to pray. Don’t use any excuse to avoid this routine because it can not bring any good. We all have choirs and think to do, we are all super busy, with our crazy schedules. Get up half an hour earlier than you need to. Go to bed half an hour ahead too. Learn how to rest with quality time spent with Lord our God. And trials will come, they certainly will. As soon as a man wants to do something good, to work on himself, on his spirituality, evil arises and hinders us. Don’t let the devil distract you. In the name of Jesus, anything is possible. In the name of Jesus stand your ground, all walls fall, mountains move, and devil falls.

When we are not regular in daily prayers and reading

As for regular reading, I have to admit I didn’t have a problem until I’ve started a second job. Then everything turned around, and I barely managed as I know and can, so the reading suffered a bit. As a result of my lack of reading, I became more intense and cranky. The guides of the Holy Spirit were not that clear as used to be. I was behind for several days with everything, so I would make up for it. After a couple of months, I found a way to manage my situation. I asked my boss to start my working hours one hour later than I was supposed to do. After discussing it and explaining all of the reasons, she understood and gave my hour. Of course, I prayed and asked God to help me to spend more time with him.

Then, after a while, I started “slacking” again only this time it was the devil who attacked me. What particularly impresses us will be preserved as a topic with coffee, depending on how important it is to us and if we have concluded something new. The devil was putting these thoughts in my head that God is asking something of me and gives a very little. Those were all the lies and discourages that he uses. Luckily, with prayer and church groups I was able to overcome it.
Here is a suggestion should what you should read, from the Bible, every day.

Other reasons for the first cup of coffee with God

Other reasons for drinking the first cup of coffee with God:

  • As coffee gives you boost to deal with upcoming challenges, the same way God increases the quality of your life.
  • Coffee lovers know that coffee fixes everything. Tired? Headache? Cold? Have a cup of coffee! Hopefully, Christians know that God actually fixes everything! Combine those two in the morning, and you’ll have an amazing day. Keep the routine, and you’ll have a marvelous life.
  • What happens to your life when you skip the morning coffee? Now, imagine what happens to your spiritual life what you skip morning portion of time with God.
  • If you put God first, then everything else will fall into its place.

I’m not comparing God to coffee. That would be blasphemy. God is always the most important! He is our Heavenly Father, the Lord of lords, King of kings! One of the examples of daily prayer is the prophet, Daniel. When he found out that the king wrote a new law that forbids worshiping God, he went and prayed.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. (The book of Daniel, 6:10, KJV)

Coffee with music

There will be days when all the reasons in the world for drinking the first cup of coffee with God will not be enough. In those days, you can simply give your thanks to Lord our God, and enjoy His presence. He is forever there, and He loves you! Every time I feel a bit sad I play worship music. That way, I can praise the Lord and focus my mind on Him. Surrender everything to Him because He’ll know what to do. There will eternally be prayers, which were uttered by Christ himself, which taught us how to pray. The Holy Scriptures should be approached with devotion and love and we should constantly return to it. The heart should be free and ready to respond to God’s call. The word of God disperses there and brings light and through the Scriptures, God speaks to us.

Keep in mind that as Christians, worship is the greatest work of all the children of God. It is the most sublime expression of worship that the saints can express. The highest manifestation of spiritual life we can see in people who glorify God. Although God’s throne is in the heart of the universe, it is established in the celebration of God’s children. The name of God is exalted through worship. There is nothing else that a Christian could offer that would go beyond worship.

Conclusion

All the reasons why your first cup of coffee should be with God are the top of your relationship with God are not enough if you are not doing it voluntarily. He doesn’t want you cranky looking in your watch or something. He wants a personal relationship with you. God wants quality time with you, and he deserves it.

Start your day with prayer, reading the Bible, and worship music and see the difference.
