Notice that in this King James Version (KJV), love is identified with charity. The very first attribute the apostle Paul uses to express love is “suffering.” It is the highest quality one person can have. In other translations, we can see that word suffering is identified as “patient.” However, this is the highest quality because the patient people stay calm while they are dealing with difficult people, situations, and problems.

Daily verse

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (1 Corinthians 13:4, KJV)

Daily reading

Love is patient! Love is Kind! I want to support you to question your life: how do you react in stressful situations? How do you react in waiting situations? The more patient you are, the more loving you are. Therefore, be patient with your old parents, be patient with your young children, be patient with all the people in your environment. Manifest Christ’s love in you by being patient with everyone. The world needs to know and see the Love of God in our lives.

Show your love in small acts of kindness. At that time, it is necessary to be kind to the people who are rude to you. They need it the most.

I hope you remember that one of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit is patience. So, pray for the fruits, ask Him to help you grow in this great personality attribute. I know that Christians are hesitant to pray for the suffering; they want everything light in this world. The Bible explicitly says that we will have pain in this world. But, Jesus has beat the world, so that we have a victory in Him. The suffering works an essential purpose in His Kingdom and the trial is not elective. It comes so that our faith and trust in Him, may be determined good and may appear in praise, glory, and worship to Him.
